SNL was sooo good last night. I loved the cold open (Les Mis themed) and Rihanna was great. Although the green screen for Diamonds was super weird/not cute.
I can’t wait to buy the original, which will be release Nov 19! It is actually a duet with Mikky Ekko, who is a man. Not a woman. Just in case you hear the snippet and get confused.
He is pretty cool too.
I heard this song at work, unfortunately they have transitioned to Christmas music now (Are you kidding me, it’s not even freaking Thanksgiving yet! And there is a Santa photo booth set up too. I work at the mall. It is terrible).
Swamped again. I feel like every other week ends up being insane. But…music makes doing homework and running around way more enjoyable.
I wish this song went on foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Ok so, I was watching The Good Wife and there was this amazing song at the end and I was dying trying to find it and then I found out that The Blow used the background music from Come On Petunia and then wrote new lyrics so CBS wouldn’t get sued (check out @thebl0w for the deets). I really wish that there was a real copy of that version. Anyway it was the episode “Two Girls, One Code” (so lame, with the title), starting at like the 40 min mark and then all the way to the end.
Here are the lyrics:
can everybody see that i’m on fire
did they watch you burn this mother down
please don’t rescue me
i’m free to burn out as i please
just leave me be
don’t put me out
i don’t care if people know
i don’t care what they’d say
when a little spark got started
and i’d just sit and watched it grow
as the flames speed through more and more (?)
everyone will know-oh-oh-oh
“Like a rabbit in your headlights” really sticks out, lol
I feel like music comes in cycles. New stuff is hits the airwaves, it starts to get played occasionally, OMG people love it, it reaches peak popularity, and then its beaten to death like a INSERT WITTICISM HERE.
I think we are in phase one of that cycle because I have been hearing a lot of new music recently!
These guys are so cool, I would have guessed they were Australian.
“I will not pretend I’m to good for this song. I will not pretend I’m too good for this song.” -My new mantra
Love this song! Plus the word “wallowing” needs to make a comeback.
“Without joy, joy, joy, and the rain” Love this line.
I just finished the last book yesterday. I have that bittersweet feeling you get when you finish a good book, you feel satisfied with how things turned out, but sad because it is over. Don’t let the popularity of The Hunger Games turn you off; don’t act too cool for school! These are exciting, fast-paces stories with an abundance of cliffhangers. Also, there are only three of them, so hurry up since the first movies comes out on Friday!
The soundtrack is bound to be phenomenal, with names like Glen Hansard and Neko Case attached. It is available for pre-order on itunes now.
